Governed by a simple motto, “Live well and do good,” Nicholas J. Butler has worked as a Forester and Arborist for over 20 years. Throughout his career, he has focused on the benefits of trees, the importance of thoughtful green spaces, and the value of nature. He has a professional certification in his practice area and has consulted privately since 2016.
Nicholas began his career in Arkansas with Weyerhauser. His work there inspired him to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry from Mississippi State University. From there, he landed in Southern California and continued to perfect his craft while working as Forester for the US Forest Service. Later, he also attained a Master’s degree in Natural Resource Management from Utah State University, afterward, continuing to practice post-graduation as an Area Forester for the State of Utah.
After leaving the State of Utah, Nicholas served as the Conservation Director for Memorial Park Conservancy in Houston, TX making him the resident expert for forest restoration and arboricultural support for landscape design.
Having experienced virtually all facets of forestry; silviculture, consulting, arboriculture, urban forestry, wildland fire management, restoration, and planning, Nicholas is a credible expert and engaging public speaker.
